Congrats to Little Loves Co. on Bridge Street in Carleton Place for being the first to receive a custom StopGap Foundation ramp, made by students from Carleton Place High School – UCDSB! Way to go CPHS!
Interested in having a ramp of your own for your business in Carleton Place? Get your orders in to CPHS as soon as possible before the summer break! There’s no cost to the business, but they are invited to make a donation to StopGap at http://stopgap.ca/donate-today/. CPHS will need your name, address, and email contact to get started. On receipt of the ramp, businesses will be required to sign a one page waiver form.
You can also talk to Amy Elsner, AODA Partnership Coordinator for United Way Lanark County. Amy is a wonderful resource for our local small and medium sized businesses. Knowledgeable around the AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) and its compliance requirements, she can help you understand accessibility as it relates to your customers and staff, and can also explain the benefits of joining EARN (Employment Accessibility Resource Network).
Amy can be reached at 613-253-9074 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’d also like to make a big shout out to the Carleton Place & District Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Carleton Place & the Town of Carleton Place for their support in making this happen! Thank you everyone for working towards a barrier free community!
