Message from the Chair

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by our website, and for showing an interest in what your United Way is doing to support your community.  For over thirty years we have been serving the various communities within Lanark County.

So what is United Way?  We are an organization dedicated to improving lives and building community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.  We supported 14 local Partners in 2016 that provide vital services in your community – approximately 1 in 8 individuals benefited from contributions made to United Way Lanark County.  Your contributions support programs and social services that serve children, families, youth, seniors and those with life challenges in your own community.  In supporting United Way Lanark County, you are supporting the organizations that both serve and represent the heart of your community.

While your United Way serves a vital role in providing leadership, endorsing innovation, encouraging volunteerism and working to ensure that investments have a recognizable impact, the heart of our work with each agency is in providing financial support:  By distributing funds to member agencies we enable them to provide services and to make informed decisions about how those funds are best spent.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our donors and volunteers.  Without you, we would not be able to support the agencies that provide such vital services to your community.  Your support of United Way Lanark County is an investment in your community, and we are strongest when we work together!

If you are thinking about supporting your United Way or any charitable organization, I urge you to ask yourself what change you want to see in your community:  How do United Way and its Partners fit into your vision of a healthy neighbourhood?  Take the time to visit our website, learn about our Partners, and drop us a line with any questions you may have.  Your United Way believes that Change starts here:  In your town, in your neighbourhood, on your block.  Change starts in your schools, your workplace and in your home.  Change starts with you.

Welcome Aboard – Together, we are possibility!
